WHAT BECLOVID-C CREAM IS USED FOR
Beclovid-C Cream is used to treat fungal
infections of the skin, particularly when
accompanied by eczematous features.
HOW BECLOVID-C CREAM WORKS
Beclovid-C
Cream
consists
of
Clotrimazole
and
Beclomethasone
Dipropionate.
Clotrimazole is an imidazole antifungal
agent and is effective against a wide
variety of fungi. Clotrimazole acts on
the cell membrane of the fungus.
Beclomethasone
Dipropionate
is
a
synthetic glucocorticoid and is used on
skin
for
the
treatment
of
various
dermatoses.
Topical
application
of
Beclomethasone
Dipropionate
exerts
potent
and
rapid
anti-inflammatory,
anti-pruritic,
anti-allergic,
anti-
proliferative
and
vasoconstrictive
activity
which
leads
to
marked
suppression of dermatoses.
BEFORE YOU USE BECLOVID-C CREAM

Do
not
use
this
product
if
you
are
allergic
to
any
ingredients
of
this
product.
Do not use this product if you are having
skin
tuberculosis,
herpes
simplex,
chicken
pox,
measles,
vaccinia,
syphilitic skin lesions.
Do
not
used
in
large
amounts
of
Beclovid-C Cream for long periods of
time if you are pregnant.

PHARMACODYNAMICS
• CLOTRIMAZOLE:
Clotrimazole
is
an
imidazole
antifungal
agent
and
effective
against
a
wide
variety
of
fungi
including
Epidermophyton,
Microsporum and Trichophyton spp., Coccidioides
immitis, Histoplasma capsulatum, Aspergillus and
Candida spp. Other fungi which are susceptible to
Clotrimazole include Cryptococcus neoformans,
Malassezia
furfur
(Pityrosporum
orbiculare),
Paracoccidioides brasiliensis, Sporothrix schenckii,
Pseudallescheria, Medurella and Phialophora spp.
Clotrimazole also exerts antibacterial activity and
some
strains
of
Staphylococcus
aureus
and
Streptococcus pyogenes have been reported to be
sensitive.
Clotrimazole acts on the cell membrane of the
fungus by inhibiting protein synthesis, therefore
disrupting the utilization and the incorporation of
the acylated amino acids essential for fungi.
• BECLOMETHASONE DIPROPIONATE: Beclomethasone
Dipropionate is a synthetic glucocorticoid and is
used topically to treat various dermatoses. Topical
application
of
Beclomethasone
Dipropionate
exerts
potent
and
rapid
anti-inflammatory,
anti-pruritic,
anti-allergic,
anti-proliferative
and
vasoconstrictive activity which leads to marked
suppression of dermatoses.
PHARMACOKINETICS
Clotrimazole
appears
to
be
well
absorbed
in
humans
following
oral
administration
and
is
eliminated mainly as inactive metabolites. However,
following
topical
and
vaginal
administration,
Clotrimazole appears to be minimally absorbed.

Topical
corticosteroids,
which
include
Beclomethasone
Dipropionate
can
be
absorbed
from normal intact skin. The extent of percutaneous
absorption is affected by many factors including the
vehicle, the integrity of the epidermis and the use of
occlusive dressings.
Inflammation and/other disease condition in the skin
increases
percutaneous
absorption.
