CAPSULE IS USED FOR
Axcel
Cefuroxime-250
Capsule
is
used for the following:
•
Lower respiratory tract infection
(example:
acute
and
chronic
bronchitis and pneumonia).
•
Upper respiratory tract infection
(example: ear, nose and throat
infections such as otitis media,
sinusitis,
tonsillitis
and
pharyngitis).
•
Genitourinary
tract
infections
(example: pyelonephritis, cystitis
and urethritis).
•
Skin
and
soft
tissue
infection
(example:
furunculosis,
pyoderma and impetigo).
•
Gonorrhoea
(sexually
transmitted
infection),
acute
uncomplicated
gonococcal
urethritis
(inflammation
of
the
urethra)
and
cervicitis
(inflammation of the cervix).

IS

CEFUROXIME-250
CAPSULE WORKS
Axcel
Cefuroxime-250
Capsule
belongs
to
a
group
of
medicines
called cephalosporin antibiotics. The
active
ingredient
in
Axcel
Cefuroxime-250
Capsule
(cefuroxime axetil) works by killing
bacteria
(germs)
that
cause
infections.
BEFORE YOU USE AXCEL CEFUROXIME-
250 CAPSULE

_When you must not use it _
Do not take Axcel Cefuroxime-250
Capsule if:
•
you are allergic or hypersensitive
to
cephalosporin
antibiotic.
Some
of
the
symptoms
of
allergic
reaction
may
include
skin rash, itchiness, shortness of
breath, swelling of the face, lips
or tongue.

Tell your doctor if:
•
you
are
allergic
to
any
medicines.
•
you have had a serious allergic
reaction
to
penicillins.
There
may be an increased risk of you
being allergic to Cefuroxime if
you are allergic to penicillins.
