WHAT AVANCE JOINT COMFORT TABLET IS
USED FOR
Adjunctive
therapy
in
osteoarthritis
(degenerative joint disease).
HOW

COMFORT
TABLET
WORKS
Glucosamine helps to relief joint pain and
stiffness by strengthening the cartilage
and
reduce
friction
around
the
joints.
Cartilage is a connective tissue that acts as
a cushion to protect the bones in the joints.
Chondroitin
Sulphate
could
potentially
slow down the process of the cartilage
breakdown. It gives the cartilage elasti-
city by helping it to retain water hence
providing resistance to compression. It
also reduces the activity of enzymes and
substances
which
will
slow
down
the
degeneration of collagen.
BEFORE YOU USE AVANCE JOINT COMFORT

_When you must not use it_
Avance Joint Comfort Tablet is not meant
to replace NSAIDs in cases of intense
pain, as this is a causal therapy.
It is advisable to take anti-inflammatory
medicine
in
the
initial
treatment
with
glucosamine sulphate.

_Before you start to use it_
Consult your doctor if you are
a.
diabetic. This product derived from
seafood. The effect of glucosamine
on insulin sensitivity and glucose
tolerance is unclear.

having blood clot disorder

having poor/ weak liver or kidney

pregnant or lactating
Consult a doctor to exclude the presence
of joint disease for which an alternative
treatment is to be considered.

(Chondroitin Sulphate 191mg)
INDICATION
Adjunctive therapy in osteoarthritis.
RECOMMENDED DOSAGE
250mg
200mg
For mild to severe cases: Take 2 tablets three times a day, before
meal, for the first 1 to 2 months.
For Maintenance: Take 2 tablets twice daily.before meals, from the 3rd
month onward.

Joint Comfort Tablet manufactured by Eckhart Corp. contains
Glucosamine Sulphate 250mg and Chondroitin Sulphate
Sodium 200mg. Glucosamine Sulphate and Chondroitin Sulphate Sodium are
substances found naturally in the body.
Glucosamine possesses antiarthrosic-arthrotrophic activities. It
stimulates the anabolic metabolism of osteo-cartilagineous
tissue via stimulation of the biosynthesis of the mucopoly saccharides
(which are the essential components of the cartilage
ground-substances) and of the bone mesenchymal tissues.
Glucosamine also acts to improve the viscosity of synovial fluid
production, thereby providing lubricant activity.
Chondroitin Sulphate could potentially slow the degeneration of the
articular cartilage. Chondroitin Sulphate partially
inhibits leucocyte elastase activity, which would slow the
degeneration of collagen.
In vitro studies have shown the Chondroitin Sulphate can increase
ribonucleic acid (RNA) synthesis in cultured
chondrocytes, which correlates with increased synthesis of several
proteoglycans and collagens.
