Manufacturer and Product Registration Holder 10.Date of revision WHAT ASMOL SYRUP IS USED FOR It is used for the relief of bronchospas (narrowing of the airways going into the lungs) in reversible obstructive airway disease such as asthma. HOW ASMOL SYRUP WORKS The active ingredient in the medicine is Salbut- amol sulphate. Salbutamol works by causing bronchodilation (widening of airways) result- ing from relaxation of smooth muscles of the airways. BEFORE YOU USE ASMOL SYRUP _- When you must not use it _ Do not use Asmol Syrup if you are: Hypersensitive to salbutamol or any other ingredients listed at the end of this leaflet. Pregnancy and breastfeeding Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are preg- nant, planning to get pregnant or breastfeeding. Salbutamol should be used in pregnant and breastfeeding women only if the benefits out- weigh the risks. _- Before you start to use it _ Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any of the following: cardiovascular disorders including coronary insufficiency (inability of the heart to pump enough blood through the body) and high blood pressure overactive thyroid gland diabetes mellitus pheochromocytoma (a rare tumor of adrenal gland located above the kidneys) hyperkalemic familial periodic paralysis (a muscle disease) _- Taking other medicines _ There are a few medicines which may in- teract with Asmol Syrup. It is important to tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the medicines that you are taking, including those obtained without doctor’s prescription.
