Date of revision WHAT APO-MINOCYCLINE IS USED FOR Apo-Minocycline is indicated for the treatment of various infections such as gallbladder, skin, soft tissues, urinary tract, respiratory tract and also as alternative medicine for sexually transmitted disease (gonorrhea and syphilis). HOW APO-MINOCYCLINE WORKS Apo-Minocycline contains minocycline which is a tetracycline antibiotics that fights bacteria in the body. It acts by inhibiting protein production within the bacteria, thus preventing the growth and spread of bacteria. BEFORE YOU USE APO-MINOCYCLINE _- When you must not use it _ Do not take Apo-Minocycline if you are allergic to minocycline, any other tetracycline or any other ingredients of this medicine (listed in Product Description) _- Before you start to use it _ Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you: have kidney or liver disease have systemic lupus erythematosus_ _ are allergic to any antibiotics_ _ are under 13 years old_ _ taking any other penicillin (antibiotic) _ _ Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and/or ultraviolet light while under treatment with minocycline or other tetracycline medicines. Treatment should be discontinued at the first evidence of skin redness or discomfort. _ Pregnancy and Breast-feeding _ Apo-Minocycline, is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation because of possible adverse effects on developing bones and teeth of the fetus and newborn.
