Date of revision WHAT IS THE MEDICATION FOR APO-CARVEDILOL is used to reduce hypertension (high blood pressure), to treat chest pain (angina) and to treat heart failure. HOW IT WORKS APO-CARVEDILOL belongs to a class of drugs called beta- blockers/alpha blockers. It acts by blocking the action of certain chemicals (hormones) on the heart and the blood vessels and affects, amongst other things, the heart rate and the heart’s workload. BEFORE YOU USE _WHEN YOU MUST NOT TAKE IT _ You should not take this medicine if you are pregnant or if you plan on being pregnant unless the doctor tells you to. Do not use APO-CARVEDILOL if you are allergic to it or any of the components of its formulation (see list of component at the end of this section). If you become unwell while taking APO- CARVEDILOL, tell your doctor at once. _ _ _BEFORE YOU START TO TAKE IT _ Tell Your Doctor • All your medical conditions, including a history of heart, kidney or liver problems, asthma or breathing difficulties; • If you suffer from diabetes, thyroid problems, Raynaud’s phenomenon (coldness/spasm in the hand or feet) or cramping pains in the leg when exercising; • If you suffer or have suffered from psoriasis (scaly red patches on the skin); • If you see another physician other than your heart doctor for another condition tell this physician that you are taking APO-CARVEDILOL; • If you are pregnant or thinking about becoming pregnant, or if you are breast feeding. _ _ _TAKING OTHER MEDICINES _ Tell Your Doctor • Any medications (prescription or non prescription) which you are taking, especially anti- hypertensives, digoxin, Baca dokumen lengkap
