WHAT
TREWOUND ANTISEPTIC IS USED FOR
It used as an antiseptic for treatment of
skin lesions, cuts, abrasions, infected
wounds
and burns.
HOW
TREWOUND ANTISEPTIC WORKS
It contains chlorhexidine that is effective
against a wide range of Gram- negative
and Gram-positive vegetative bacteria,
yeasts, dermatophyte fungi and lipophilic
viruses. It is inactive against bacterial
spores except at elevated temperatures.
BEFORE YOU USE

_When you must not use it_
Do not use it if you are allergic to any
ingredients of this Trewound Antiseptic.

_Before you start to use it_
AiPharma Trewound Antiseptic 1%w/v
contains chlorhexidine. Inform your
healthcare provider if you have a known
allergy to chlorhexidine.
Stop using this product and seek
immediate medical assistance if you
experience rash, itching, swelling,
breathing difficulties, light headedness or
rapid heartbeat.

_Taking other medicines _
The cationic nature of the compound
results in activity being reduced by soap
and anionic compounds as they can form
insoluble salts. Anions to be wary of
include borates, bicarbonates,
carbonates, chlorides, citrates, nitrates,
phosphates and sulphates with due
attention being paid to the presence of
hard water.
Please inform the doctor or pharmacist if
taking other medicines.
HOW TO USE
TREWOUND ANTISEPTIC

Clean and dry the affected area. Then
spray the solution 3 times a day.

PHARMACODYNAMICS
Chlorhexidine is effective against a wide range of Gram negative and

STATEMENT ON USAGE DURING PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
No special precautions need to be taken when used in pregnancy and
lactation.
ADVERSE EFFECTS / UNDESIRABLE EFFECTS
Immune system disorders.
Frequency not known : Hypersensitivity including anaphylactic shock.
SYMPTOMS AND TREATMENT OF OVERDOSE
Chlorhexidine Gluconate taken orally is poorly absorbed into the
blood. Acciden-
tal ingestion may require gastric lavage using milk, egg white,
gelatine or mild
soap.
Employ
supportive
measures
as
appropriate.
Haemolysis
has
been
reported following ingestion or accidental intravenous administration.
Haemoly-
sis may necessitate blood transfusion.

Store below 30°C. Protect from light.
