WHAT IS ACETIN USED FOR
ACETIN is used:

As adjuvant therapy in
chronic lung disease.

As an antidote for
acetaminophen over dosage.
HOW ACETIN WORKS
Acetylcysteine belongs to a group of
medicines called mucolytic which
work by thinning the mucus
(phlegm) so that it can be coughed up
more easily.
BEFORE YOU USE ACETIN
_-When you must not use it _
You must not use ACETIN if:

You are allergic
(hypersensitive) to
acetylcysteine or any of the
other ingredients of this
medicine.

Your child is under 2 years
of age.

You have a condition called
phenylketonuria due to the
aspartame content of this
medicine.
_-Before you start to use it _
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist
before taking ACETIN if:

You suffer from asthma.
You may need to be
monitored closely while
taking this medication.

You are pregnant or breast-
feeding, think you may be
pregnant or are planning to
have a baby.
_-Taking other medications _
Activated charcoal should be avoided
in the treatment of acetaminophen
since they may decrease the
absorption of orally administered
acetylcysteine.
HOW TO USE ACETIN
_-How much to use _
ACETIN:
Adults and children above 6 years: 2
sachets 3 times a day.
Children 2-6 years: 2 sachets 2 times
a day.
ACETIN-200:
Adults and children above 6 years: 1
sachet 2-3 times a day.
Children 2-6 years: 1 sachet 2 times a
day.
Each sachet to be dissolved in half a
glass of water.

pharmacist.

If you forget to take a dose, take it as
soon as possible. Take the next dose
