The ABBOTT PRISMR HBsAg assay is an in vitro chemiluminescentimmunoassay (ChLIA) for the qualitative detection of Hepatitis B Surface Antigen (HBsAg) in human serum or plasma. It is intended as a screen for donated blood to prevent transmission of hepatitis B virus (HBV) to recipients of blood and blood components and as an aid in the diagnosis of ongoing or previous hepatitis B viral infection. Use with Abbott Prism System. It is also intended for use in testing serum and plasma specimens to screen cell, tissue and organ donors when specimens are obtained while the donor’s heart is still beating.
