EFFECTS OF THIS MEDICINE
This medicine suppresses excessive excretion of insulin from pancreas
and alleviates
symptoms due to excretion of insulin from pancreas.
It is usually used to improve symptoms of hypoglycemia associated with
congenital
hyperinsulinemia.
THE FOLLOWING PATIENTS MAY NEED TO BE CAREFUL WHEN USING THIS

AND PHARMACIST.
・If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch,
rash, etc.) to any medicines
or foods.
・If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
・If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may
interact to enhance or
diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and
dietary supplements
as well as other prescription medicines.)
DOSING SCHEDULE (HOW TO TAKE THIS MEDICINE)

・In general, start to inject 5 mcg/kg (5 mcg as octreotide per
kilogram of the body weight)
subcutaneously a day in 3 or 4 divided doses or inject subcutaneously
for 24 hours
continuously. The dose may be adjusted according to symptoms of the
patient, however, the
maximum daily dose is up to 25 mcg/kg. This medicine is an injection
containing 100 mcg as
octreotide in a single ampule. Strictly follow the instructions.
