®
160 mg, film-coated tablet.
QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE COMPOSITION
1 film coated tablet contains 160 mg fenofibrate.
Excipients with known effect:
Every film-coated tablet contains:
- 138.4 mg of Lactose monohydrate
- 0.56 mg of 3-sn-phosphatidyl choline obtained from soybean.

PHARMACEUTICAL FORM
Film coated tablet.
White, oblong, film-coated tablets engraved "160" on one side and
“F” logo on the other side.
CLINICAL PARTICULARS
THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS
This medicine is on the form of film coated tablets. Box of 30
tablets.
This medicine is a serum lipid reducing agent/cholesterol and
triglyceride reducer/fibrate.
This medicine is recommended for certain hypercholesterolemia’s
(abnormally high rate of cholesterol in
the blood) and/or hypetriglyceridemias (increase of triglycerides -
fats - in the blood) in adults, when a
suitable and assiduously followed diet has failed.
Lipanthyl 160 mg film-coated tablet can be used in addition to other
medicines (statins) in some
circumstances when levels of fats in the blood are not controlled with
a stalin alone.
POSOLOGY AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
The diet should be continued during the administration of this
medicinal product. The response
to treatment should be monitored by recording serum lipid level. If an
adequate lipid lowering
response has not been achieved after several months of treatment with
fenofibrate (e.g 3 months),
complementary or different therapeutic measures should be considered.
Posology:
Adults:
Recommended daily dose: 1 film-coated tablet (equivalent to 160 mg
fenofibrate) daily. Patients
currently taking one Lipanthyil Micro 200mg (200 mg fenofibrate; 1
capsule daily) can be
changed to one Lipanthyl 160 mg film-coated tablet without further
dose adjustment.
Elderly patients:
In elderly patients, without renal impairment are recommended to take
the normal dose.
Patients with renal impairment:
Dosage reduction is required in patient
