WHAT AXCEL KAOPEC SUSPENSION IS
USED FOR
Axcel
Kaopec
Suspension
is
an
antidiarrhoeal used for the relief of
occassional diarrhoea.
HOW
AXCEL
KAOPEC
SUSPENSION
WORKS
This medicine contain Light Kaolin to
help remove toxic substances from the
digestive system and increase the bulk
of solid waste. It also contains Pectin
which is a natural fiber.
BEFORE
YOU
USE
AXCEL
KAOPEC
SUSPENSION
_-When you must not use it _
Do not take Axcel Kaopec Suspension
if:
•
You
are
having
intestinal
obstruction.
•
It is not prescribed by a qualified
doctor or pharmacist for you
•
You are pregnant, trying to get
pregnant or think you may be
pregnant.
•
You are breast-feeding. Ask your
doctor or pharmacist for advice
before taking any medicine.

Tell your doctor if:
•
You
are
allergic
to
any
medicines, food and dyes.
•
You
are
taking
any
other
medicines
(including
those
not
prescribed by your doctor).

You should tell your doctor if you are

may interact with your Axcel Kaopec
Suspension:
•
Antibiotics.
It may still be all right for you to take
Axcel Kaopec Suspension and your
doctor will be able to decide what is

USE

To be administered orally.
To be taken 3 times a day,
when
necessary.
_Children: _
6-12 years: 20ml.

Kaopec Suspension according to the
type of condition

COMPOSITION:
Each 5ml contains
Light Kaolin 1g
Pectin (Citrus) 20mg
Methylparaben 0.1%w/v as preservative.
PRESENTATION:
Cream coloured and cream (Butter) flavoured
suspension.
INDICATION:
Antidiarrhoeal of non-specific origin.
DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION:
For oral administration only.
Children 6 - 12 years : 20ml
To be taken 3 times a day, when necessary.
CONTRAINDICATION:
Contraindicated in intestinal obstruction.
PRECAUTIONS:
Appropriate fluid and electrolyte therapy should
be given to protect against dehydration. Oral
rehydration
therapy
-
which
is
the
use
of
appropriate fluids including oral rehydration salts
-
remains
the
most
effective
treatment
for
dehydration due to diarrhoea. The intake of as
much as possible of these fluids is, therefore,
imperative.
WARNING:
Severe constipation, which may lead to feacal
impaction, may rarely occur in children and
elderly patients taking kaolin and pectin. Kaolin
and pectin may interfere with the absorption of
other
drugs,
including
antibiotics
when
administered concurrently.
SIDE EFFECT:
None.
STORAGE:
Keep container well closed. Store below 30
o
C.
Protect from light.
PACK QUANTITIES:
Available in 120ml amber glass bottle.
KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
