WHAT VIRLESS TABLET IS USED FOR
It is used for infection caused by Varicella
Zoster virus (virus that cause Chicken Pox or
Shingles),
skin
infection
due
to
Herpes
Simplex virus (cold sores) and as prevention
and
recurrent
treatment
of
Herpes
Simplex
virus infections.
HOW VIRLESS TABLET WORKS
Acyclovir is taken up (by body cells) and
selectively converted to the active form. It
then prevents the synthesis of new DNA in
the virus. Acyclovir reduces the severity and
duration of these infections symptoms.
BEFORE YOU USE VIRLESS TABLET
_When you must not use it _
If you are allergic towards acyclovir or to any
component of this product, you cannot take
VIRLESS TABLET.
_Before you start to use it _
Inform your doctor if you:
-
have kidney problem.
-
encounter body dehydration, such as after a
prolong vomiting and diarrhea.
-
are taking other medicines that will affect
your kidney function.
-
are pregnant or plan to get pregnant.
-
are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed your
baby.
-
have other medical condition such as after
bone
marrow
transplantation
(immunocompromised).
_Taking other medicines _
Tell your doctor if you are taking any other
medication.
There
may
be
an
interaction
between other groups of medicines. VIRLESS
TABLET
can
cause
unwanted
effect
when
used together with Probenecid (medicine used
to treat gout).
HOW TO TAKE VIRLESS TABLET
_How much to take _
_Treatment of Herpes Simplex Infection: _
200mg (400mg in the
immunocompromised patient) 5 times
daily, usually for 5 days.

_Prevention of recurrent Herpes Simplex _
_Infection: _
200mg to be taken 4 times daily
