ACTIVITY
HIBITANE PLUS has broad spectrum activity (95% minimum efficacy)
against the mastitis
causing bacteria; staphylococci, streptococci, pseudomonas and
coliforms, as well as many
yeasts and moulds. HIBITANE PLUS exerts antibacterical action within
one minute of
applications and is increasingly effective as time passes. It is
effective against bacterial
colonisation for the normal period between milkings and remains active
in the presence of milk,
blood and other organic matter. The glycerine component of HIBITANE
PLUS provides
additional protection from teat cracking and assists in the healing of
existing cracks and sores.
HIBITANE PLUS will not taint or leave detectable residues in milk or
milk products. It is non-
irritating to cow’s teats and milker’s skin and is non-corrosive
to metal and rubberware.
BY LAW THE USER MUST TAKE DUE CARE, OBTAINING EXPERT ADVICE WHEN
NECESSARY, TO AVOID
UNNECESSARY PAIN AND DISTRESS WHEN USING THE PRODUCT OTHER THAN AS
DIRECTED ON THE
LABEL.
USE DIRECTIONS
DILUTION: Add 1 part HIBITANE PLUS to 4 parts water. This provides a
spray solution
containing the recommended concentration of Chlorhexidine digluconate
(0.45%) and 10%
glycerine. If desired, the glycerine contents of the spray solution
can be further increased by
replacing part of the water in the mixture with glycerine. e.g. 1 part
HIBITANE PLUS mixed with
1 part glycerine and 3 parts water, produces a solution containing
(0.45%) Chlorhexidine
digluconate and 20% glycerine.
