ANTICOAGULANT CITRATE DEXTROSE SOLUTION, USP
(ACD) FORMULA A
Anticoagulant Citrate Dextrose Solution is sterile, nonpyrogenic and
for use with
Cytapheresis Device only. It is not for direct intravenous infusion.
The plastic Container is fabricated from a specially formulated
polyvinyl chloride.
Water can permeate from inside the container into the overwrap in
amounts
insufficient to affect the solution significantly. Solution in contact
with the plastic
container can leach out certain of its chemical components in very
small amounts
within the expiration period, e.g., di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP),
up to 5 parts
per million. However, the safety of the plastic has been confirmed in
tests in
animals, according to USP biological standards for plastic container
as well as by
tissue culture toxicity studies.
Do not use unless solution is clear and no leaks are detected.
Single use container; discard unused portion.
Do not remove unit from overwrap until ready for use. Use all units
promptly when
pouch is opened.
The overwrap is a moisture barrier. The inner bag maintains the
sterility of the
product.
After removing overwrap, check for minute leaks by squeezing inner bag
firmly. If
leaks are found, discard solution as sterility may be impaired.
Store at room temperature. Avoid storage at excessive heat.
Protect form freezing.
