ACTIVE CONSTITUENT: 200 G/KG LASALOCID SODIUM
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: Coarse, free flowing granular like particle. INDICATIONS:
For the prevention of coccidiosis caused by _Eimeria necatrix, E.
tenella, E. acervulina, E. brunetti, E.maxima _and _E. _
_mivati _in broiler or fryer chickens..
For the prevention of coccidiosis caused by _Eimeria meleagrimitis, E.
gallopavonis, and E. adenoeides _in turkeys.
RECOMMENDED DOSE:
Chickens (broilers or fryers and layer replacement chickens):
Lasalocid is added to broiler chicken feed at concentrations from 68
to 113 g/ton for the prevention of
coccidiosis caused by _Eimeria tenella, E. necatrix, E. acervulina, E.
brunetti, E. mivati, and E. maxima. _
Turkeys (growing)
Lasalocid is added to growing turkey feed at concentrations from 68 to
113 g/ton for the prevention of
coccidiosis caused by _Eimeria meleagrimitis, E. gallopavonis, and E.
adenoeides. _
MODE OF ADMINISTRATION: Oral - Use continuously in the feed.
PHARMACODYNAMICS/PHARMACOKINETICS:
Lasalocid sodium is an ionophore anticoccidial and has the ability to
strongly bind cations and transport them across
biological membranes thereby interfering with the normal metabolic
activities of _Eimeria _species.
The pharmacokinetic properties of lasalocid sodium have been widely
studied in laboratory animals and poultry. Oral
doses of lasalocid are rapidly absorbed from the G .I. tract and
widely distributed in major tissues followed by an
equally rapid elimination from the body via the excreta.
CONTRAINDICATION:
NOT TO BE FED to horses or other equine species as fatal toxicosis may
occur
For use in feeds for broiler chickens, other table chickens, layer
replacement chickens and turkeys. Do not
feed to other classes of birds or to other species of livestock.
