IN-FURROW APPLICATION TO THE SOIL AT PLANTING Apply as an in-furrow spray at planting. The objective of in-furrow application is to concentrate the chemical in the area just above the seed piece where sprouting will occur. More than one spray nozzle is preferred to direct the spray in a 15 to 20 cm band at the top of the seed piece as it falls into the furrow, so that the surrounding soil is also treated when the furrow is closed and the seed is covered.
