PHARMACOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION:

PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION:
The organic phosphorus compound present in CATOSAL
®
stimulates the assimilatory
processes in the body and acts as an anabolic agent.
Vitamin B
12
influences protein, carbohydrate and fat metabolism and promotes the
formation
of red blood cells.
Jointly these substances act to improve the availability of energy and
assist in balancing
mineral disorders.
INDICATIONS:
-
Disorders of the metabolism (incl. lumbago in horses) caused by poor
nutrition, inadequate
management or disease.

Disorders of development and nutrition in young animals due to disease
early in life.
-
Metaphylaxis of infertility and puerperal diseases and as adjunct
treatment in infertility.
-
Tetanies and pareses as an adjunct to Ca/Mg therapy.
-
Roborant in cases of stress, over-exertion and reduced resistance in
healthy animals.
-
Tonic in cases of weakness, secondary anaemia, exhaustion and
chilling.
-
Improvement of muscular efficiency especially in animals kept for
working, sport and
breeding purposes.

CONTRA-INDICATIONS:
None known.
DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
CATOSAL
®
may be injected i.v., i.m. or s.c; in the case of poultry it may be
administered orally in the drinking water.
Dosage is determined according to condition and bodymass as follows:
A) In acute disease:
Horse, cattle
5 – 25 ml
Foal, calf
5 – 12 ml
Sheep, goat
2,5 – 5 ml
Lamb, kid
1,5 – 2,5 ml
Pig, sow
2,5 – 10 ml
Piglet
1 – 2,5 ml
Dog, cat
0,5 – 5 ml
Poultry
1 ml
To be repeated daily if required.
B) In chronic disease:
Half of the above dosage is administered at intervals of 3 – 5 days.
