PHARMACODYNAMICS: Calcium is one of the most abundant elements in mammals. The majority is found concentrated in the cell. This element exerts an important biological action, mainly in the bone development, nervous and muscular system. Calcium is also essential in cardiac function, for the integrity of membranes cell and blood coagulation. Magnesium is one of the most abundant cations in the intracellular fluid. It is essential in the activity of many enzyme systems, neurotransmission and muscle stimulation. In certain physiological states such as growth, pregnancy, birth and lactation, the need of systemically available calcium increases above normal level.
