WHAT ASTALAIR IS USED FOR
Astalair is used for the prophylaxis
and chronic treatment of asthma in
adults and adolescents 15 years of
age and older.
Astalair is indicated in adults and
adolescents
15
years
of
age
and
older for the relief of daytime and
night
time
symptoms
of
seasonal
allergic rhinitis.
HOW ASTALAIR WORKS
The
mechanism
of
action
of
Montelukast
is
based
on
the
blockage
of
cysteinyl
leukotriene
(CysLT)
receptors.
The
cysteinyl
leukotrienes
(LTC
4
,
LTD
4
,
LTE
4
)
are potent inflammatory eicosanoids
and have been correlated with the
pathophysiology
of
asthma
and
allergic rhinitis.

If you are allergic to Montelukast or
any of the other ingredients of this
medicine.

give
this
medicine
to
children less than 15 years of age.

_Pregnancy and breastfeeding _

planning to have a baby, ask your
doctor or pharmacist for advice before
taking Astalair.
