WHAT GERMOSEPT IS USED FOR
For hygenic and antiseptic purpose when
soap and water are not available.
HOW GERMOSEPT WORKS
GermoSept contains Isopropyl Alcohol
as its active ingredient. It is a broad
spectrum antiseptic.

HOW TO USE SEPTOL ANTISEPTIC

Always use GermoSept exactly as your
doctor has prescribed. You should check

The usual dose:
Place enough product on hands to cover
all surfaces. Rub hands together until
dry.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
A clear solution.
PHARMACODYNAMICS
Isopropyl alcohol is a bactericidal agent that acts by the
denaturation of proteins. It is a rapidly bactericidal and a
fast-acting broad-spectrum antiseptic, but is not
considered persistent. At concentrations of 70% v/v, it is a much
effective antibacterial preservative than ethanol (95%). The
bactericidal effect of aqueous solutions
increases steadily as the concentration approaches 100% v/v. However,
isopropyl alcohol is ineffective against bacterial spores.
PHARMACOKINETICS
As for the pharmacokinetic properties, there is little absorption of
isopropyl alcohol through intact skin. It is readily absorbed from the
gastrointestinal tract and
may be slowly absorbed through intact skin. Isopropyl alcohol is
metabolized more slowly than ethanol, primarily to acetone.
Metabolites and unchanged isopropyl
alcohol are mainly excreted in the urine.
INDICATIONS
For hygenic and antiseptic purpose when soap and water are not
available.
RECOMMENDED DOSE
Place enough product on hands to cover all surfaces. Rub hands
together until dry.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Known hypersensitivity to isopropyl alcohol or any of its components.
WARNING AND PRECAUTIONS
For external use only. Flammable. Keep away from heat or flame.
Supervise children under 6 years of age when using this product to
avoid swallowing.
Do not use in children less than 2 months of age.
Do not use on open skin wounds.
When using this product keep out of eyes, ears, and mouth. In case of
contact with eyes, rinse eyes thoroughly with water.
Stop use and ask a doctor if irritation or rash occurs. These may be
signs of a serious condition.
Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed, get medical help right
away.
