WHAT IS DAKTARIN
® FOR?
DAKTARIN
®
Cream/Powder is a medicine for treating INFECTION OF THE SKIN BY FUNGI
INCLUDING
YEASTS.
DAKTARIN
® CREAM is used, for instance, in:
-
infections of the scalp, the beard, the trunk, the feet and hands and
the groin;
-
diaper rash in babies.
DAKTARIN
® POWDER is used, for instance, in:
-
infections between the fingers and toes or in the groin;
-
diaper rash in babies.
DAKTARIN
®
Powder is also shaken in socks and shoes to prevent infection of the
feet.
Usually, DAKTARIN
®
Powder is combined with DAKTARIN
®
Cream or Lotion.
WHEN NOT TO USE DAKTARIN
®
Do not use DAKTARIN
®
Cream/Powder if you know you are HYPERSENSITIVE to it or to other
similar antifungal medicines.
WHAT SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS SHOULD YOU TAKE?
DAKTARIN
®
can cause severe allergic reactions. You must be aware of the signs of
an allergic
reaction while you are taking DAKTARIN
®
. See ‘UNDESIRED EFFECTS’.
DO NOT APPLY DAKTARIN
® CREAM/POWDER TO THE EYES.
Wash your hands carefully after you have used DAKTARIN
®
Cream/Powder, except if the
treatment is for the hands.
Keep a towel and a washcloth for your own use. In this way you AVOID
INFECTING OTHER PEOPLE.
Regularly change clothing which comes into contact with the infected
skin in order to avoid
reinfecting yourself.
Oral anticoagulants (blood thinning medication): Ask a doctor or
pharmacist before use if you
are taking an oral blood thinning medication, such as warfarin.
Other medications: The effects and side effects of some other
prescription medications, when
taken with miconazole, can be increased. Ask a doctor or pharmacist
before use if you are taking
other medications.
AVOID INHALING DAKTARIN
® POWDER.

Powder contains talc which can cause breathing problems. Apply the
powder
close to the body to avoid inhalation. When treating infants and
children, carefully shake the
powder into your baby’s diaper or onto your hand and apply to the
infected area. Keep the
