Date of revision WHAT SULBRIMO_ _IS USED FOR SULBRIMO _ _ is used for treatment of all form of asthenia (Abnormal body weakness) HOW SULBRIMO WORKS Sulbutiamine is a thiamine derivative. Sulbutiamine crosses the blood brain barrier more easily than vitamin B1 because of its lipophilic properties. This leads to an increased formation of thiamine triphosphate that acts as a regulator of the synaptic transmission of many neurotransmission systems. It gives better physical resistance, improved intellectual performance and psychological balance. BEFORE YOU USE SULBRIMO - _When you must not use it _ Do not take SULBRIMO if: You are allergic (hypersensitive) to Sulbutiamine or any of the other ingredients. If you are pregnant, trying to get pregnant or think you may be pregnant, consult your doctor before taking this medicine. If you are breastfeeding, consult your doctor before taking this medicine. - _Before you start to use it _ You must consult a doctor or pharmacist if you: Allergic (hypersensitivity) to Sulbutiamine or other ingredients in this product. - _Taking other medicines _ Consult a doctor or pharmacist if you are taking: Loop diuretics medicines such as furosemide, ethacrynic acid and bumetanide. Intake of thiamine with foods that contain sulfites. Intake of thiamine with tea, coffee and decaffeinated coffee. HOW TO USE SULBRIMO - _How much to use _ Follow all directions given in the insert carefully. They may differ from the information contained in this leaflet. INTERACTION: Loop diuretics (furosemide, ethacrynic acid, bumetanide): Chronic use of loop diuretics may result in thiamine deficiency. Concomitant intake of thiamine with foods that contain sulfites may inactivate thiamine. Concomitant intake of thiamine with tea, coffee and decaffeinated coffee may inactivate thiamine. This can be reversed by taking thiamine supplements. USE IN PREGNANCY & LACTATION: Due to lack of studies in these groups of people, as a precautionary measure, the use of sulbutiamine during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended.
