INACTIVATED VACCINE FOR THE PROTECTION OF CHICKENS AGAINST AVIAN
REOVIRUS
DESCRIPTION
Nobilis REO inac contains two immunogenic strains of REO virus. The
viruses have been
grown on CEF cell cultures and are inactivated with formalin.
Subsequently they have been
suspended in the aqueous phase of an oil adjuvant emulsion.
COMPOSITION
Active components per 0.5 mL dose: REO virus strains 1733 and 2408:
inducing


ELISA units.
INDICATION
The vaccine is recommended for the booster vaccination of breeding
stock against Avian
Reovirus in order to protect the offspring of the vaccinated birds
against Avian Reovirus
infections.
RECOMMENDED VACCINATION PROGRAMME
Nobilis REO inac should be administered to birds around 16-20 weeks of
age but not less
than 4 weeks before the expected onset of lay. For an optimal booster
effect, the birds must
be primed with live vaccine against Avian Reovirus.
The best results will be obtained if vaccination with inactivated
vaccine takes place 6 or more
weeks after administration of the live primer but in no circumstances
should it be done earlier
than 4 weeks after priming.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
BY LAW THE USER MUST TAKE DUE CARE, OBTAINING EXPERT ADVICE WHEN
NECESSARY, TO AVOID
UNNECESSARY PAIN AND DISTRESS WHEN USING THE PRODUCT OTHER THAN AS
DIRECTED ON THE
LABEL.
Each bird should be injected with 0.5 mL of vaccine intramuscularly in
the thigh or chest
muscle or subcutaneously into the lower part of the neck.

Vaccinate healthy birds only.
•
Before using vaccine allow it to reach ambient temperature (15°C to
25

C).
•
Shake the bottle well before use.
•
Use sterile injection equipment.
•
Use the entire contents when first opened.
•
Do not mix with other vaccines.
VACCINATION REACTIONS
In healthy birds no clinical reaction to vaccination will be observed.
For some
