DOSAGE AND
ADMINISTRATION:
DIB-H® elevates plasma progesterone levels in cattle and may be used
as a component of
artificial breeding programs in combination with injectable hormones
such as cloprostenol,
GnRH, oestradiol, and eCG. DIB-H® is suitable for anoestrus cattle,
synchronising oestrus
in cattle and re-synchronising of oestrus in cattle under the
supervision of a qualified cattle
reproduction consultant. RLP APPROVED
1. FOR SYNCHRONISATION OF OESTRUS
Insert DIB-H® using an approved applicator. Inject the cow with 2 mg
of oestradiol
benzoate at insertion. Remove the DIB-H® 7 days after insertion and
inject cow with
PGF2 # (or analogue) at manufacturer’s recommended dose. Administer
1 mg oestradiol
benzoate 24 hours later. If fixed time AI is to be used then it should
be carried out at 52-56
hours after device removal.
2. TREATMENT OF POST-PARTUM ANOESTRUS
Insert DIB-H® using an approved applicator. Inject the cow with 2 mg
of oestradiol
benzoate at insertion. Remove the DIB-H® 8 days after insertion and
inject cow with
PGF2# (or analogue) at manufacturer’s recommended dose and 400 to
500 IU of equine
chorionic gonadotrophin. Administer 1 mg of oestra
