WHAT AVONOX IS USED FOR
The name of your medicine
is Avonox 10 mg Tablet
(called “Avonox” in this
leaflet). Avonox contains a
medicine called zolpidem
hemitartrate. Avonox is
used for short-term
treatment of insomnia in
situations where the
insomnia is debilitating or is
causing severe distress.
HOW AVONOX WORKS
Avonox is a prescription
medicine and belongs to a
group of medicines called
imidazopyridine. It
decreases sleep latency and
the number of awakenings,
and increases sleep duration
and sleep quality.
BEFORE YOU USE AVONOX
_When you must not use it _
Do not take this medicine
and tell your doctor if:

You are under the age of
18

You have liver problems
-
You are allergic
(hypersensitive) to
zolpidem hemitartrate or
any of the other
ingredients of Avonox
-
You have obstructive sleep
apnoea or myasthenia
gravis
-
Your lungs do not work
properly
-
You have psychotic illness
-
You have symptoms of
depression
-
You have history of drug
or alcohol abuse
-
You are operating heavy
machineries or intend to
drive
_Before you start to use it _
Check with your doctor or
pharmacist before taking
this medicine :

If you are pregnant or
planning to become
pregnant.

If you are breast feeding.
You should choose to
bottle feed your baby or
not take Avonox.

If you consume high
volume of alcohol

If you have liver problems

If you have respiratory
problems

If you have mental

_Taking other medicines _
Tell your doctor about all
the medicines you take,
including prescription and
nonprescription medicines,
vitamins, and herbal
