EFFECTS OF THIS MEDICINE
This medicine is a synthetic human parathyroid hormone preparation. It
enhances the function
of cells that make bone, and increases bone mass, thereby reducing the
risk of fracture.
It is usually used to treat osteoporosis at high risk of fracture.
THE FOLLOWING PATIENTS MAY NEED TO BE CAREFUL WHEN USING THIS
MEDICINE.BE SURE TO TELL YOUR DOCTOR
AND PHARMACIST.
・If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch,
rash, etc.) to any medicines
or foods.
If you have high risk of osteosarcoma [Paget's disease of bone,
increased blood alkaline
phosphatase of unknown origin, pediatric and young adult patients with
open epiphyses
(currently, growth in stature), previously received radiotherapy that
may affect the bone],
hypercalcemia, primary or metastatic malignant bone tumors, metabolic
bone diseases other
than osteoporosis, such as hyperparathyroidism.
・If you are pregnant, possibly pregnant or breastfeeding.
・If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may
interact to enhance or
diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and
dietary supplements
as well as other prescription medicines.)
