WHAT _PRICOLAX _IS USED FOR
For the treatment of constipation,
to
evacuate the bowels before or after an
operation or radiology procedure.
HOW _PRICOLAX _WORKS
Bisacodyl belongs to a group of medicines
known as stimulant laxatives. Stimulant
laxatives increase bowel movements.
BEFORE YOU USE _PRICOLAX _
_When you must not use it _
- you are allergic to bisacodyl or any
of the other ingredients of
_Pricolax_
.
- are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- have a blocked bowel (intestinal
obstruction).
- have inflammation of the bowel.
- not recommended for children under 6
years old.
_Before you start to use it _
- Tell your doctor if you are taking any
other medicines, including any that you
buy without a prescription from a
pharmacy, supermarket or health food
shop.
- Tell your doctor if you have kidney
problems.
_Taking other medicines _
- Do not use together with products
containing potassium or magnesium salts.
- Do not take with milk or antacids.
HOW TO USE _PRICOLAX _
_How much to use_

Adult and children above 6 years old: 1 –
2 tablets to be taken at bedtime. Drink at
least 6 to 8 full glasses (240ml) of liquid
every day when using laxative to aid
stool softening and to protect against
dehydration when large volume of water
are lost with passage of stool.
To prepare patient for before/after
operation and before radiology: 2 – 4
tablets to be taken the night before and
one suppository to be inserted the
following morning for complete
evacuation of the intestine.
