WHAT IS MECORT C USED FOR
Mecort C is used for fungal skin
infections with symptoms of
inflammation and itching. Examples
are fungal infections of the feet
(athlete’s foot), fungal infection
between skinfolds (candida
intertrigo), fungal infections of the
labia and surrounding areas (candida
vulvitis), inflammation of the glans
penis and foreskin of males (candida
balanitis) and other fungal skin
infections where Clotrimazole can be
used.
HOW MECORT C WORKS
This product contains an antifungal
medication named Clotrimazole and
it is combined with a corticosteroid
called Hydrocortisone Acetate which
has anti-inflammatory, anti-itch and
vasoconstrictive (narrowing of blood
vessels) properties.
BEFORE YOU USE MECORT C
_-When you must not use it _
Do not use Mecort C if:
•
You are allergic to any of
the ingredients of this
product, refer to ingredients
list in this leaflet
•
The skin at site of infection
is broken
•
The infection is caused by
other types of skin disorders
such as acne, rosacea
(redness and visible blood
vessels on face), perioral
dermatitis (skin infection/
rash around the mouth), lues
(a sexually transmitted
disease), tuberculosis
(infection caused by the
bacteria
_Mycobacterium _
_tuberculosis_
)
•
You have other untreated
skin infections
•
You have viral skin
infections (e.g., herpes
simplex, chicken pox,
shingles etc.)
•
Skin reactions towards
vaccinations
_-Before you start to use it _
Be careful not to apply Mecort C:
•
On large areas of skin on
the body (more than 5 to
10% of the body surface)
