Heat therapy is typically used to relieve muscular aches and pains, ease joint stiffness, and by increasing blood flow it reduces swelling and promotes healing of damaged tissue. Cold therapy is typically used to relieve pain and inflammation, reduce swelling and bleeding, and aid in muscle relaxation.
