In cold weather warm syringe to body temperature. The entire contents (10 mL) of one syringe should be infused into the affected quarter immediately after milking. Ensure that the affected quarters are thoroughly stripped out before treatment. Treatment should be repeated at 24 hour intervals for three days. Care should be taken to properly clean and disinfect the tip of the teat to prevent introduction of contaminants. Care should also be taken to avoid contamination of the tip of the syringe after removal of the cap and after prior to insertion into the teat canal. After contents are infused, gently massage the preparation upwards, working the syringe contents into the mammary gland. In addition to therapeutic treatment, cleanliness of dairy, milking equipment, thoroughness of milking techniques, operator care and correctly adjusted milking machines are of paramount importance. The routine use of suitable commercial teat dips for all lactating cows is highly recommended. General Directions: The combination of three antibiotics in MASTALONE is designed to provide maximum coverage against most of the known causative organisms associated with bacterial mastitis.
