PART II SUMMARY OF PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS 1 NAME OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT Resolve Effervescent Granules 2 QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE COMPOSITION _For a full list of excipients, see section 6.1_ 3 PHARMACEUTICAL FORM Effervescent granules. Granules with a characteristic lemon odour. 4 CLINICAL PARTICULARS 4.1 THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS For the relief of headache with gastric upset. 4.2 POSOLOGY AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION Dissolve the contents of the sachet in a glass (150-200 ml) of water and drink immediately. Adults and Children aged 12 years and over One sachet every 4 hours as required. Do not take more than 4 sachets in any 24 hours. Not to be given to children under 12 years of age. The Elderly The normal dose can be used. 4.3 CONTRAINDICATIONS Known hypersensitivity to paracetamol or any of the ingredients. Cases of impaired renal or hepatic function. Patients on sodium-restricted diets. Each 8.09g sachet contains: Paracetamol 1000.00 mg Ascorbic Acid 30.00 mg Anhydrous Citric Acid 1185.00 mg Sodium Bicarbonate 808.00 mg Potassium Bicarbonate 715.00 mg Anhydrous Sodium Carbonate 153.00 mg IRISH MEDICINES BOARD ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ _Date Printed 01/03/2010_ _CRN 2078998_ _page number: 1_ 4.4 SPECIAL WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS FOR USE If symptoms persist for more than three days, consult your doctor. Prolonged use without medical supervision may be harmful. Do not take other medicines containing paracetamol while using Resolve. Do not exceed the stated dose. Keep out of reach of children. 4.5 INTERACTION WITH OTHER MEDICINAL PRODUCTS AND OTHER FORMS OF INTERACTION The anticoagulant effect of warfarin and other coumarins may be enhanced by prolonged regular use of paracetamol with increased risk of bleeding.
