Carnation Vericap Verruca Treatment Salicylic Acid 10% w/w Vericap medicated plasters contain a Salicylic Acid paste that helps to remove verrucas while a felt ring relieves pressure. Recommended for the removal of verrucas. Caution FOR EXTERNAL USE ON THE FEET ONLY. DO NOT USE:- - IF YOU ARE DIABETIC - if you have a circulatory disorder - if skin close to the verruca is inflamed or broken - if you are using any other medicated product to treat your verruca - to treat more than 3 verrucas at a time - for any other purpose than the removal of verrucas - on moles, birthmarks, hairy or genital warts, the face or anogenital skin - if you are allergic to Salicylic Acid, NSAIDs (asprin), adhesive plasters or any of the ingredients - on children under 6 or adults over 50 - if you have gangrene - after the expiry date shown on this carton and inner sachets - if you are pregnant or breast feeding Date of Information October 2018 PA 229/3/3 Directions for Use 1. For better adhesion clean and dry the feet. 2. Take a medicated plaster from its sachet and remove the backing paper. 3. Firmly apply the medicated plaster, ensuring that the paste is over the verruca. 4. Change the medicated plaster every two days, cleaning the surrounding area and gently removing any dead skin. Health Products Regulatory Authority 15 November 2018 CRN008K10 Page 1 of 5 SUMMARY OF PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS 1 NAME OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT Carnation Vericap Verruca Treatment 10% w/w medicated plaster 2 QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE COMPOSITION Each medicated plaster contains 6.5mg of salicylic acid. For a full list of excipients, see section 6.1. 3 PHARMACEUTICAL FORM Medicated Plaster Carnation Vericap Verruca Treatment consists of a set of 4 sealed foil sachets each containing a medicated plaster and one sealed foil sachet containing a non-medicated protective plaster. 4 CLINICAL PARTICULARS 4.1 THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS A keratolytic for treatment of verrucas. 4.2 POSOLOGY AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION Carnation Vericap Verruca Treatment plasters are applied topically to the infected site. _RECOMMENDED DOSAGE SCHEDULES:_ _ADULTS_ A medicated dressing is applied to the verruca with the paste well over the verruca. Retain in place for 2 days and remove. Any loose skin is gently scraped away, the area cleaned and thoroughly dried and a fresh medicated dressing applied. Repeat this procedure over an eight day period. Apply protective plaster dressing to area to prevent infection and allow healing. If verruca is still present after four weeks, repeat treatment. Treatment is suitable for children over 6 years and adults. Always consult the doctor before using this treatment in adults over 50 years. _CHILDREN_ Always consult the doctor before using this treatment in children under 6 years. People with severe circulation problems should seek medical advice before use. Do not use if skin close to the verruca is inflamed or broken.
