EFFECTS OF THIS MEDICINE
This medicine blocks dopamine receptors and serotonin receptors in
brain and controls the
balance of neurotransmitters. It consequently suppresses excitement of
mood and relieves
depressed mood or anxiety/tension.
It is usually used to treat schizophrenia and improve manic symptoms
and depressive
symptoms in bipolar disorder.
It is also used in case of gastrointestinal symptoms (nausea and
vomiting) associated with
anticancer drugs such as cisplatin.
