MG IS USED FOR
hovid-Lamivudine
Tablet
100
mg
is
used
to
treat
long
term
(chronic)
hepatitis B infection in adults.
HOW
HOVID-LAMIVUDINE
TABLET
100
MG WORKS
Lamivudine
belongs
to
a
group
of
antiviral
medicines,
also
known
as
antiretrovirals,
called
nucleoside
analogue reverse transcriptase inhibitors
(NRTIs).
Lamivudine can reduce the amount of
hepatitis
B
virus
in
your
body.
This
should
lead
to
a
reduction
in
liver
damage and an improvement in
your
liver function.
BEFORE
YOU
USE
HOVID-LAMIVUDINE
TABLET 100 MG

Do not take this medicine if:

you are allergic to lamivudine or
any of the ingredients listed at the
end of this leaflet.
If you are not sure whether you should
start taking this medicine, talk to your
pharmacist or doctor.

Tell your doctor/pharmacist:

if you have liver disease. Patients
with chronic hepatitis B or C and
treated
with
antiretroviral
agents
are at increased risk for severe and
potentially
fatal
liver
adverse
events and may require blood tests
for control of liver function.

if
you
have
kidney
disease.
The
standard
recommended
dose
may
have to be reduced.

if
you
are
pregnant,
or
plan
to
become
pregnant.
Lamivudine
Tablet
may
cause
side
effects in
unborn babies.

if you are breastfeeding.

if you have HIV infection.
