DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
Withdraw the 5 mL of diluent and reconstitute Chorulon vial. Mix by
gentle inversion ensuring
the freeze-dried plug is fully dissolved. After reconstitution with 5
mL of diluent provided,
each mL contains 300 IU of human chorionic gonadotrophin. Administer
by intramuscular,
subcutaneous or intravenous injection.

DESCRIPTION
The active ingredient of Chorulon, human Chorionic Gonadotrophin
(hCG), is a complex
glycoprotein which is obtained from the urine of pregnant women.
Because of the relative
instability in solution, it is marketed in a freeze-dried form.
INDICATIONS
May assist in the treatment of anoestrus and suboestrus, post-partum
cystic ovaries
associated with or without nymphomania, deficient sex drive and
improve conception rates.
PRECAUTIONS
Chorionic gonadotrophin is a glycoprotein and thus the possibility,
albeit rare, of anaphylactic
reaction, should be considered, when used intravenously.
GENERAL ACTIONS
This substance is capable of supplementing and being a substituted for
the luteinising
hormone of the anterior pituitary gland in both male and female
animals. Chorulon in the
female promotes ovulation, the formation of the corpus luteum and by
virtue of the
progesterone produced by this structure, the maintenance of
intrauterine conditions
necessary for the establishment and continuance of pregnancy. In the
male, Chorulon
stimulates the production of testosterone and thus influences the
development and
maintenance of primary and secondary male sex characteristics.
