Claims:
For the control of mites (
Varroa destructor
) on European honey bees (
Apis mellifera
).
This product must only be supplied in the event an outbreak of varroa
mite (
Varroa
destructor
) is declared in accordance with the Emergency Plant Pest Response
Deed by
the Australian Chief Plant Protection Officer of the Commonwealth
(after referral from
PLANTPLAN).
This product must only be used under the direction of the Australian
Chief Plant Protection
Officer of the Commonwealth.
APIVAR 500 MG BEE HIVE STRIPS FOR HONEY BEES contains amitraz, a
member of
the formamidine family. It is effective against sensitive strains of
varroa mites (
Varroa
destructor
). Resistance may develop to any chemical.

Directions for Use:
Restraints:
DO NOT USE during honey flow or while honey supers are present.
DO NOT harvest honey when the treatment is in place. Honey if produced
or harvested
while the treatment is in place must not be made available for human
consumption.
DO NOT extract honey from the brood chamber.
DO NOT recycle brood frames as honey frames in treated hives.
HONEYCOMB/PROPOLIS/ROYAL JELLY: DO NOT make honeycomb, propolis, royal
jelly
from treated bees or hives available for human consumption. RLP APPROVED
DO NOT USE APIVAR over two consecutive treatment periods. The product
must only be
used once a year.
