1. WHAT TRAVOCORT IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR
Travocort contains the active substances isoconazole
nitrate and diflucortolone-21-valerate.
Travocort is used to treat surface fungal infections of
hairless and hairy skin in which highly inflammatory
or eczematous skin changes are present, e.g. on the
hands, in the spaces between the toes and in the groin
or genital area.
Isoconazole nitrate, one of the active substances in
Travocort, is effective against skin fungi (dermatophytes),
yeasts, yeast-like fungi (including the germs that cause
pityriasis versicolor) and moulds. It is also effective
against the germs that cause an infectious disease called
erythrasma.
Diflucortolone-21-valerate, the other active substance
in Travocort, suppresses inflammatory and allergic
skin reactions, and relieves symptoms such as itching,
burning sensation or pain.
