EFFECTS OF THIS MEDICINE
This medicine decreases blood pressure by blocking beta-receptors and
selectively blocking
alpha 1-receptors, shows moderate and stable antihypertensive effect
by decreasing
peripheral vascular resistance with little effect on cardiac output,
and suppresses rapid
increase in blood pressure on awakening in the early morning.
It is usually used to treat essential hypertension and hypertension
due to pheochromocytoma.
THE FOLLOWING PATIENTS MAY NEED TO BE CAREFUL WHEN USING THIS
MEDICINE.BE SURE TO TELL YOUR DOCTOR
AND PHARMACIST.
・If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch,
rash, etc.) to any medicines
or foods.
If you have: diabetic ketoacidosis or metabolic acidosis, bradycardia,
heart disease, bronchial
asthma, bronchospasm, hypoglycemia, diabetes mellitus, thyroid
disease, liver disease or
renal disease.
・If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
・If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may
interact to enhance or
diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and
dietary supplements
as well as other prescription medicines.)
