1. WHAT OILATUM SHOWER GEL IS AND
WHAT IT IS USED FOR
Oilatum Shower Gel contains a
medicine called light liquid paraffin.
It is a non-foaming emollient gel that is
used to treat itchy, irritating dry skin
conditions such as eczema and
dermatitis.
Oilatum Shower Gel works by:
• soothing, moisturising and
conditioning your skin.
• stopping loss of moisture from your
skin.
2. BEFORE YOU USE OILATUM SHOWER GEL
DO NOT USE OILATUM SHOWER GEL IF:
• you are allergic to light liquid paraffin
or any of the other ingredients in this
medicine (listed in Section 6).
• your skin is greasy.
Do not use Oilatum Shower Gel if any
of the above applies to you. If you are
not sure, talk to your pharmacist or
doctor before using this medicine.
3. HOW TO USE OILATUM SHOWER GEL
If this medicine is from your doctor or
pharmacist, do exactly as they have
told you. Otherwise, follow the
instructions below. If you do not
understand the instructions or you are
not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
• You should use Oilatum Shower Gel
every time you wash or shower.
• Oilatum Shower Gel is for use only
on your skin. Avoid getting this gel in
your eyes or in your mouth.
• Take care to avoid slipping. This gel
may make your shower or bat

4.1
THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS
Oilatum Shower Gel Fragrance-Free is indicated in the treatment of
contact
dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, senile pruritis, ichthyosis and related
dry skin
conditions.
4.2
POSOLOGY AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
Adults, children and the elderly:
Oilatum Shower Gel Fragrance-Free may be used as frequently as
necessary.
Oilatum Shower Gel Fragrance-Free should always be applied to wet
skin,
normally as a shower gel.
Shower as usual. Apply Oilatum Shower Gel Fragrance-Free liberally to
wet
skin and massage gently. Rinse briefly and lightly pat the skin dry.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
None.

SPECIAL WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
Oilatum Shower Gel Fragrance-Free should not be used on greasy
skin. Use care to avoid slipping in the shower.
Oilatum Shower Gel Fragrance-Free should be used with caution in
patients
with a known sensitivity or allergy to light liquid paraffin (LLP) or
to any of
the excipients in the preparation.
Instruct patients not to smoke or go near naked flames – risk of
severe
burns. Fabric (clothing, bedding, dressings etc) that has been in
contact
with this product burns more easily and is a serious fire hazard.
Washing
clothing and bedding may reduce product build-up but not totally
remove
it.

INTERACTION WITH OTHER MEDICINAL PRODUCTS AND OTHER FORMS OF
INTERACTION

FERTILITY, PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
FERTILITY
There are no data on the use of Oilatum Shower Gel Fragrance-Free on
human
fertility.
PREGNANCY
No effects during pregnancy are anticipated, since systemic exposure
to Oilatum
Shower Gel Fragrance-Free is expected to be low.
LACTATION
It is not known if Oilatum Shower Gel Fragrance-Free is excreted in
human milk.
Risk to the infant is likely to be low since systemic exposure is low.
