COMPOSITION
Each 5 mL contains:
_ACTIVE INGREDIENTS:_ guaifenesin - 100.0 mg, chlorpheniramine maleate
- 2.0 mg,
phenylpropanolamine HCl - 5.0 mg;
_INACTIVE INGREDIENTS: _sucrose, sorbitol 70% solution, sodium
citrate, citric acid, methylparaben,
propylparaben, aroma, color, ethanol 96%, water purified.

Expectorant, histamine H

-receptor antagonist, sympathomimetic; R05FB01.
ACTIONS
Guaifenesin acts as an expectorant by increasing the volume and
reducing the viscosity of
secretions in the trachea and bronchi. Thus, it may increase the
efficiency of the cough reflex and
facilitate removal of the secretions.
Phenylpropanolamine hydrochloride is a sympathomimetic amine, which
provides temporary
relief of nasal congestion.
Chlorpheniramine maleate is an antihistamine that provides temporary
relief of runny nose,
sneezing and watery and itchy eyes.
USES
The clinical uses of Expectorant is treatment of cough, nasal
congestion and cold symptoms.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
Administration of Expectorant syrup in children younger than 6 years
of age should be directed
by a physician.
The propose therapeutic dose in _ADULTS_ is 5 ml of syrup every 6-8
hours. The usual therapeutic
dose in _PEDIATRIC BETWEEN 2-6 YEARS OLD _is 1.25-2.5 ml every 6-8
hours. The usual therapeutic
dose in pediatric between _6-12 YEARS OLD _is 2.5-5 ml every 6-8
hours.
Do not take more than 4 doses a day.
CONTRAINIDICATIONS
Unless your doctor approves, do not use these products if you have
heart disease, high blood
pressure, thyroid disease, diabetes, high pressure within the eye
(glaucoma), an enlarged prostate
gland, or a breathing problem such as emphysema or chronic bronchitis.
SPECIAL WARNINGS
If you become dizzy or nervous, or have trouble sleeping, stop taking
these products and check
with your doctor.
