DIRECTIONS FOR USE
CHICKENS, TURKEYS AND OTHER POULTRY:
Give 10 - 20 mg of amoxycillin (20 - 40 mg VETRI-
MOXIN 50) per kilogram of bodyweight each day
for 3 - 5 days depending on the severity of the condi-
tion. For treatment of severe infections, including
necrotic enteritis due to _Clostridium perfringens,_ give
20 mg of amoxycillin per kilogram of bodyweight
each day for 5 days.
A fresh solution of VETRIMOXIN 50 should be pre-
pared daily and all other sources of water removed
until the medicated water has been fully consumed.
VETRIMOXIN 50 should be mixed in sufficient fresh
drinking water to meet consumption over a 4-6
hour period. The inclusion rate can be calculated as
follows:
1. Determine the bodyweight of a representative
sample of birds.
2. Calculate the quantity of VETRIMOXIN 50 requi-
red to provide one dose for all birds in the affected
shed.
3. Determine the daily water consumption of the
flock (from water consumption over the previous
day). Calculate the volume of water that will be
consumed over 4-6 hours.
4. Fill the drinking water tank with the volume of
water to be consumed over 4-6 hours.
5. Dilute the required amount of VETRIMOXIN
50 in a small quantity of water in order to obtain
a stock solution for dilution in the drinking water
tank. Turn off the water supply to the tank until all
medicated water is consumed.
Discard any unused medicated water after 12 hours.
