DESCRIPTION 

Prednisolone sodium phosphate is a white or slightly yellow hygroscopic crystalline powder or friable
granules, 
odourless or with a slight odour. 

Prednisolone sodium phosphate 27mg is approximately equivalent to
20mg of prednisolone. 

SOLUBILITY:  prednisolone sodium phosphate is soluble in 1
in 4 of water, 1 in 13 of methyl alcohol, slightly 
soluble in chloroform and very slightly soluble in acetone. 

A 0.5% solution in water has a pH of 7.5 to 9.0. 
Store in airtight containers. Protect from light. 

PREDSOL SUPPOSITORIES contain the excipient _hard
fat _called_ Witepsol H15_.  There are no preservatives. 

PREDSOL RETENTION ENEMA contains the following excipients: 
sodium hydroxide, sodium phosphate -  dibasic (anhydrous), sodium phosphate - monobasic, disodium edetate, 
Nipastat GL75 (preservative) and purified water. 

Nipastat GL75
contains  _methyl hydroxybenzoate, ethyl hydroxybenzoate, propyl hydroxybenzoate, butyl _
_hydroxybenzoate _and_ isobutyl hydroxybenzoate_. 

PHARMACOLOGY 

Prednisolone is a synthetic corticosteroid with glucocorticoid and anti-inflammatory effects. 
Prednisolone 
exceeds hydrocortisone in glucocorticoid and
anti-inflammatory activity, being about three times more potent
on 
a weigh
