SUMMARY OF PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS 1 NAME OF THE VETERINARY MEDICINAL PRODUCT Betamox 40 mg Palatable Tablets 2 QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE COMPOSITION Each tablet contains Amoxicillin Trihydrate 45.92 mg which is equivalent to 40.00 mg amoxicillin. For a full list of excipients see section 6.1. 3 PHARMACEUTICAL FORM Tablet. Off-white circular tablets scored on one face. 4 CLINICAL PARTICULARS 4.1 TARGET SPECIES Dogs, Cats. 4.2 INDICATIONS FOR USE, SPECIFYING THE TARGET SPECIES For the treatment of infections caused by a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogenic bacteria including: _Bacillus cereus_ _Bordetella bronchiseptica_ _Corynebacterium spp._ _Chromobacter spp_ _Citrobacter freundii_ _Flavobacter spp._ _Proteus mirabilis_ _Pasteurella spp., including Pasteurella multicoda_ _Salmonella spp._ _Staphylococci (penicillin sensitive strains)_ _Streptococci_ Effect has been observed against some strains of Escherichia coli. As with other penicillins, amoxicillin should not be used orally or parenterally in rabbits, guinea pigs hamsters or gerbils. Caution is advised when used in any other very small herbivores. 4.4 SPECIAL WARNINGS FOR EACH TARGET SPECIES Hypersensitivity reactions may occur to the active ingredient in treated patients. 4.5 SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR USE SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS FOR USE IN ANIMALS None.
