BOSENTAN TARO 62.5 MG, 125 MG ALERT CARD For patients taking Bosentan Taro This card contains important information about Bosentan Taro. Read this card carefully before you start taking Bosentan Taro. Please refer questions about Bosentan Taro to your doctor. BLOOD TESTS FOR LIVER FUNCTION Some patients taking Bosentan Taro had abnormal results on their liver function tests. During treatment with Bosentan Taro, your doctor will order regular blood tests to check for changes in your liver function. REMEMBER TO DO A LIVER FUNCTION BLOOD TEST EVERY MONTH. YOU WILL HAVE AN ADDITIONAL TEST TWO WEEKS AFTER A DOSE INCREASE. READ THIS PAGE CAREFULLY IF YOU ARE A WOMAN OF CHILD-BEARING AGE. PREGNANCY The medicine Bosentan Taro may harm the development of your unborn baby. So, do not take Bosentan Taro if you are pregnant or become pregnant while you are taking Bosentan Taro. In addition to this, if you have a high blood pressure condition in your lungs (pulmonary hypertension), pregnancy can make the symptoms of your condition considerably worse. If you suspect you are pregnant, tell your doctor or your gynecologist. BIRTH CONTROL Hormonal birth control, such as oral contraceptive or contraceptive pills, hormonal injections, contraceptive implants or patches do not prevent pregnancy reliably in women taking Bosentan Taro. You must use a barrier birth-control method like a condom, diaphragm, or vaginal sponge in addition to your hormonal birth control. Make sure to talk to your doctor or gynecologist about any questions you have. You must do a pregnancy test before starting treatment with Bosentan Taro and every month during your treatment, even if you think you are not pregnant. Bring this card with you to your next visit to your doctor or gynecologist, to see whether you should be using additional contraceptives or other birth-control methods.
