1. WHAT WHITE LINIMENT IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR
The active ingredient in this product is turpentine oil.
White Liniment is a rubefacient, which is a substance that warms the
skin. It is used for the relief of
sciatica, sprains, lumbago and rheumatic pains.
2. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE YOU USE WHITE LINIMENT
DO NOT USE:

if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to turpentine oil or any of the
other ingredients listed in
Section 6
TAKE SPECIAL CARE when using this product:

avoid contact with the eyes, inflamed or broken skin and other
sensitive areas
OTHER MEDICINES AND WHITE LINIMENT
There are no known interactions with other medicines. If you are
unsure ask your doctor or
pharmacist before using this product.
PREGNANCY AND BREAST-FEEDING
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
3. HOW TO USE SOAP LINIMENT
FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY
ADULTS, INCLUDING THE ELDERLY, AND CHILDREN (12 YEARS AND OLDER):

Rub the liniment thoroughly onto the affected area as required.
Not recommended for use in children under 12 years of age unless
instructed by a doctor.
If symptoms persist talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
If anyone accidentally swallows some see a doctor straight away. Take
the product with you so that
it can be identified.
4. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Like all medicines, White liniment can cause side effects although not
everybody gets them.

THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS
As a rubefacient for the relief of sciatica, sprains, lumbago and
rheumatic
pains.

POSOLOGY AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
Adults, children (12 years and older) and the elderly
To be thoroughly rubbed into the affected parts as required.
This product is not recommended for children under 12 years, except
under a doctor's
instruction.

Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients

SPECIAL WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
The product is for external use only and should not be taken by mouth.
Contact with
eyes, mucous membranes, inflamed or broken skin should be avoided.

None known for the route of administration used.

FERTILITY, PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
No significant problems have been reported.

EFFECTS ON ABILITY TO DRIVE AND USE MACHINES
None known.

UNDESIRABLE EFFECTS
May cause irritation. Sensitivity reactions have been reported.
Absorption of large amounts may cause some of the effects of poisoning
with
turpentine oil.
REPORTING OF SUSPECTED ADVERSE REACTIONS
Reporting suspected adverse reactions after authorisation of the
medicinal product is
important. It allows continued monitoring of the benefit/risk balance
of the medicinal
product. Healthcare professionals are asked to report any suspected
adverse reactions
via the Yellow Card Scheme at: www.mhra.gov.uk/yellowcard

OVERDOSE
As the
product is for topical use the likelihood of overdosage due to
ingestion
is small. Should it occur then there may be local burning and
gastrointestinal
upset, coughing and choking, pulmonary oedema, excitement, coma,
fever,
tachycardia
