The bone defect is exposed and autologous, demineralized bone or ceramic materials may be used to fill the defect. NeoGen Collagen Flex may be placed either dry or hydrated over the defect -hydration by sterile water or saline solution. The membrane can be trimmed to the size and shape - it should overlap the walls of the defect by at least 2 mm to allow complete bone contact. Fixation with sutures or resorbable tacks. NeoGen Collagen Flex is resorbed in 12 to 16 weeks. NeoGen Collagen Flex is a bioresorbable, implantable collagen material that is intended for use in oral surgical procedures as a resorbable membrane material for use in ? simultaneous use of guided bone regeneration (GBR)-membrane and implants; ? augmentation around implants placed in immediate extraction sockets; ? augmentation around implants placed in delayed extraction sockets; ? localized ridge augmentation for later implantation; ? alveolar ridge reconstruction for prosthetic treatment; ? filling of bone defects after root resection, cystectomy or removal of retained teeth; ? guided bone regeneration in dehiscence defects; and ? guided tissue regeneration procedures in periodontal defects.
