BRAND NAME: DIAMOX POWDER ACTIVE INGREDIENT: Acetazolamide DOSAGE FORM: slightly yellowish white powder IMPRINT OR PRINT ON WRAPPING: EFFECTS OF THIS MEDICINE This medicine inhibits carbonic anhydrase and increases the amount of oxygen in the blood, and consequently improves acidosis, lowers intraocular pressure, suppresses epileptic seizure, relieves swelling by increasing urine output, improves Meniere's syndrome, eases premenstrual syndrome, etc. It is usually used for the treatment of glaucoma, epilepsy, respiratory acidosis in emphysema, cardiac edema, hepatic edema, premenstrual syndrome, Meniere's disease and syndrome.
