WHAT ACETYLCYSTEINE- LINK INJECTION IS USED FOR This medicine is used to treat paracetamol poisoning. It works by reacting with a toxic metabolite of paracetamol to prevent it damaging the liver. This medicine is most effective when started within 10 hours of exposure to paracetamol. ASK YOUR DOCTOR IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT WHY THIS MEDICINE HAS BEEN PRESCRIBED FOR YOU. Your doctor may have prescribed it for another reason. This medicine is not addictive. It is available only with a doctor’s prescription.
