WHAT
PHARMANIAGA SPIRONOLACTONE
TABLET IS USED FOR
Pharmaniaga Spironolactone Tablet is
used to treat:

Congestive cardiac failure.

Hepatic cirrhosis with ascites and
oedema.

Nephrotic
syndrome
(a
kidney
disorder that causes too much fluid
in your body).
HOW PHARMANIAGA SPIRONOLACTONE
TABLET WORKS
Pharmaniaga
Spironolactone
Tablet
acts on the distal portion of the renal
tubule as a competitive inhibitor of
aldosterone. It thus increases sodium
and
water
excretion
and
reduces
potassium excretion. It acts both as
potassium
sparing
diuretic
and
as
antihypertensive agent.
BEFORE
YOU
USE
PHARMANIAGA
SPIRONOLACTONE TABLET
_-When you must not use it _
Do
not
take
Pharmaniaga
Spironolactone Tablet if:

You
are
hypersensitive
to
spironolactone
or
to
any
of
the
ingredients of the product.

You
have
Addison’s
disease
(a
hormone deficiency characterised by
extreme weakness, loss of weight
and low blood pressure).

You
have
hyperkalaemia
(raised
blood potassium levels).

You suffer from anuria (cannot pass
urine).

You have severe kidney disease.

You are taking potassium sparing
diuretics or potassium supplements.
If you are not sure whether you should
use this medicine, talk to your doctor
or pharmacist first.
_-Before you start to use it _
Tell
your
doctor
if
you
have
any
allergies
to
spironolactone
or
any
other medicines or food.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you
are pregnant, breastfeeding or intend
to become pregnant. Spironolactone
should
be
avoided
if
you
are
